Our story began across the Atlantic, on a crisp September morning in Copenhagen, where a chance encounter turned into a quiet kind of forever. Years later, after moving to the U.S. and planning our own wedding, we found ourselves disheartened by an industry that seemed more focused on price tags than presence, more interested in upsells than understanding.
Vendors spoke over us. Packages were rigid. Our vision, simple, emotive, personal… kept getting lost in the noise.
So we created Vær Weddings.
The Philosophy Behind Vær
In Old Norse, the word “Vær” carries several meanings: to be, to care, to weather. For us, it reflects presence, resilience, and intentional design—everything a wedding should embody.
We believe your wedding isn’t a production. It’s a lived story, written slowly, honestly, and without spectacle for spectacle’s sake. Every couple we work with is treated as if we’re planning for ourselves all over again, with curiosity, care, and deep respect for your vision.
